If you have would like to remember and recognize the everyday
acts of kindness shown to you, stay tuned! We will be asking
people once again to nominate someone whose good deed has gone a
long way to help or inspire them for National Thank You Day
2010.
read michael and christine's winning nomination:
Last summer, our lives fell apart. Our 40-year-old son, the father of 5, was dying
of a brain tumor. During our frequent visits to help his family (living in another
state), my husband became ill and was diagnosed with non-Hodgkins lymphoma. He needed
an operation and six months of chemo. At this time, our young neighbors insisted
on taking over our rather large yard. They mowed the grass all summer and shoveled
the snow all winter. Now, he isn't retired - he works full time. The recuperation
of my husband was almost worse than the months of chemo and he is just now beginning
to get back to some semblance of himself. They are still doing our yard work!!!
What an unselfish and marvelous help this has been to us.
